i am so lazy... so 4 days ago i went to fear fest at canada's wonderland... it's a special halloween sort of thing... completely new to me, i've never been to that kind of a show before...
basically what they had were these scary attractions where you walk around a make-shift maze where scary people jump out at you and chase you around with chainsaws (minus the chains)... it was an interesting experience but i never really got scared... to be honest, i wasn't particularly aware of the so-called scary people - i found that with all the flashing lights and smoke machines and various other effects meant to wreak havoc with your senses, it kind of overloaded my senses and i became very desensitized... to the point where the scary people were little more than infrequently illuminated obstacles for me to get around...
i guess i'm one of those people for whom less really is more... if it had been more subtle, played more upon one's sense of anticipation so as to get one really good scare at the end instead of bombarding us all the way through it i think i might have actually been scared...
also, i discovered i can made tiny (~1 inch) origami frogs with numb fingers (it got pretty cold as the night progressed)... hey, what else are you going to do in an hour long line-up for a 5 minute attraction?
