ok, so there's this artical about the harm End User License Agreements do (Boing Boing: Clickthrough licenses considered harmful) and something occurred to me - why doesn't someone create an online service where people can lookup the layman's summary of various submitted EULA's... obviously there will need to be a community effort to translate these things into human readable text (because of course lawyers aren't human) but i think it could work and i think it could place real pressure on companies to come up with more reasonable EULA's (because if people really knew what they said they probably wouldn't be so quick to agree) and more readable EULA's (because what company is going to trust outsiders to come up with fair and unbiased translations of their EULA's?)....
